Antioch Baptist

The Children & Youth Development Alliance (CYDA) is an organization serving all youth and children in the Antioch Baptist Church of Corona and surrounding communities. Youth ministries directly under the umbrella of CYDA are as follows: God's African-American Young Adult Women (GAAYAW), God's Ebony Males (GEM), Youth At Work (YAW), and the Beverly Wise-Harris Children's Ministry (including Nursery Ministry).

Our Mission Statement is as follows: The Children & Youth Development Alliance will work to develop an atmosphere where all youth and children can experience and feel the love of Christ. We will learn, grow and have fun as we explore our identity as children of God. We will encourage participation in discussions, sharing in church and youth events, and service projects that serve the needs of our community. We will work to build a sense of community with our leaders and adults, as part of the larger church, and as part of the community around us. Ultimately, our purpose is to CAPTURE, EQUIP AND BRING TO MATURITY this generation of youth and children in order to take the love and hope of Jesus Christ to the world.

The Directors of Children's Ministry, Rokesha K. Goodwin-Davis and Keisha Moss have come on board and have taken the ministry by storm. They have energized the ministry and both bring a wealth of knowledge and creativity to children ages 4 -12. The children are ministered to every 1st, 2nd and 3rd Sunday during the church service where members within the congregation are given the opportunity bring a word to the children in their own unique way. In addition, they meet the 2nd Saturday from 12:00 Noon - 2:00 PM, where more time is given to the ministry through arts & crafts and special events.

God's Ebony Males, a mentoring program designed for young African-American Men has continued to strive toward our goal of preparing young men to thrive in the greater societal setting. We attempt to accomplish this by integrating biblical principles into the daily lives of the young men. We use biblical principles that we couple with strong Christian family values. We hope to develop in the young men a tool they can use to help them resolve contemporary moral and ethical conflicts.

GEM meets the 2nd and 4th Saturday of the month from 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM

Together with other Christian mentors, God's African American Young Adult Women program is focused on developing "well rounded" young ladies from ages 9-18. Activities include rap sessions, sewing lessons, hygiene and many other life skills.

GAAYAW meets every 3rd Saturday of the month from 12:00 Noon - 2:00pm.
